Dining Room Supervisor - OakView Health Center

Salary/Hourly Rate: $$14.00 - $$15.50 Per Hour


OakView Health Center is currently hiring a full time Dining Room Supervisor with open scheduling availability. The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Nutritional Services Director and Chef De Cuisine with the supervision and coordination of daily activities in the department.


  • Assist the residents and maintain HIGH VISIBILITY in dining rooms during meal service and act as a HOST, meet, greet, and seat residents and guests by escorting them to their dining tables, conversing with them about daily menu specials, orders, preferences, strong social presence in dining areas. Address all dining related issues.        
  • Responsible for training new hires and teaching others how to effectively train when necessary.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to the service staff. These duties include: keeping everyone on task, encouraging/assisting service staff when necessary, and bringing problems to the attention of management.
    •  Expedite meals with cooks for proper food temperatures, quality, and correct dining ticket orders. Monitor and report any safety, sanitation, or food handling concerns amongst dining servers. Take immediate action when appropriate.
    •  Responsible for dining room equipment and furnishings are maintained and in good working order.
    •  Assist, coordinate, and oversee special events, set up, and breakdown.
    •  Communicate with residents, family members, other departments and dietary staff in an effective manner.  
    •  Assist in proper scheduling of all staff for daily production and payroll.  
    • Take orders; provide service and all requested items both graciously and courteously.
    • Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order.
    • Be knowledgeable about menu items.
    • Other duties as assigned.


  • Demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.
  • Have a solid understanding/knowledge of OakView’s service standards.
  • Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed.
  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas.
  • Completes all assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Promotes/protects resident rights.
  • Complies with abuse prevention and reporting policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
  • Uses chain of command to communicate problems or grievances.
  • Participates in staff meetings and mandatory in-services as required.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.


  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, and communicate effectively.
  • Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred but not required; will train.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.  Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
  • Works indoors and must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the work day
  • Lift and carry up to 20 lbs. independently. 
  • Push and pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs. independently. 
  • Bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the work day.
