Dietary Clerk

Oakview Health Center is hiring a full time Dietary Clerk! The Diet Clerk is responsible for coordinating the nutritional care management of health center residents in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  • Coordinates with the Consultant Dietitian and the Nutrition Services Director in the nutritional care management of the residents.
  • Oversees tray meal service at any assigned meal and monitors accuracy of orders
  • If necessary, assists Residents with choices of selectable items on menus.
  • Enters data into menu software programs and maintains Resident profiles.
  • Prepares and distributes weekly resident satisfaction form, dining room tray audits
  • Monitors food service delivery to various locations in facility per direction of supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six month’s experience as a diet aide or diet clerk in a skilled nursing facility or hospital preferred but not required. Will train on-the-job.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
  • Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders, and interpret specifications and standards.

CRITICAL FUNCTION:

  • This position is essential to the safety of our residents and staff; and to the operation and function of the community. Employee may be recalled to report to work for an emergency, unusual occurrence, resident care need, visit from regulatory/governing agencies or any other event deemed necessary by the Executive Director, Administrator, and designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to stand or walk for 100% of the work day. Must be able to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. When lifting over 35 lbs, you are required to ask for assistance. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment generally weighing up to 200 lbs. May be exposed to extreme temperatures (freezers and stoves-range burners) for short periods of time. May be exposed industrial and household chemicals and high heat levels.
